The hotel's location is favourable and ideal, not far from the buses as well as historic Old Town. Kurzemes priekspilseta district deserves your attention. The room is soundproof and new-fashioned with a bathtub.

The staff at the front desk was possibly the worst I have ever experienced.It took me twenty minutes to get a card for internet use. I was the only customer at the desk and the girl who got it for me was totally inept.One night I asked if there was a Hard Rock Cafe in Riga. Three young ladies researched my question for 15-20 minutes and gave me an address on a slip of paper. I gave this slip to a cab driver who took me to the address. It was another Hotel. There is no Hard Rock Cafe in Riga! On my last morning I came to the lobby 30 minutes before my shuttle to the airport. There was a single customer and three employees at the desk. One was waiting on the lone customer and two were standing around doing nothing. I waited until my shuttle

(you didn't give me enough space above) arrived and told them several times that I had to leave. I put my room keys on the counter and they ignored me. My invoice was not printed or given to me. I finally calle dto them and said that I had to leave to catch my plane. They did not move. After I left, my girlfriend approached and asked for the bill. I had booked the room under my credit card, but they said they did not have my card, so they were going to charge her for the room. She finally talked them into checking the booking and restaurant records and they charged the room to me. They are the worst. I won't be back.

Booking was not in their system, was only found in the back office after a wait. Not good to have to wait for room at midnight arrival from a flight. -- a double charge has to be paid for connecting both the laptop and the iPad to internet.

We liked everything about this hotel: The first impression is important. The reception staff - everyone - was friendly, efficient and helpfull. The hotel's service areas - breakfast, dining areas, corridors, elevators were spaceous. Our room had a beautiful view of river Daugava. The hotel was quiet and within walking distance to shopping mall. Breakfast food was delicious and plentiful. All in all it was a pleasant expierence staying there. Brions Kubels Canada

The hotel is definitely recommended to all. Quiet and great place, it has very good staff at the service. The location is beautiful and magnificent, nearby a bus station.

Almost everything worked very well. The staff was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was very good as well, and I personally enjoyed the morning sauna. Also, birthday present for my daughter was a nice surprise

Originally, Hotel Islande was supposed to be official hotel of Volvo Open cup figure skating competition. At internet page of competition organizer, they claimed that transportation is organinized to ice rink from hotel. For that reason I asked for transportation to Volvo Ice rink from hotel. At the reception they said that I can have taxi for special price, 7 lats, to ice rink. I took that. However, when I returned to hotel, I took a taxi from ice rink and that costed only 5 lats. I didn't know that special price meant extra price!

When you check in, be aware with currency! In reception they book from credit card in LVL not in EUR. The currency in Booked.net is EUR.

The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a wide variety of options. However, the early check-in fee felt unnecessary and disappointing.

Lot of people, quite noizy.

My room was cozy, and breakfast was really comprehensive, setting me up for the day ahead.

The staff was courteous, welcoming, no complaint. The location was particularly good and ideal, walk from the attractions like a university campus and a monastery, and others. Distance to the airport was just 10 km.

The views were not so good.
